Many people do not know what it means, much less that it is a viable option for same sex couples who both want to share in breastfeeding their baby. I already knew the health and bonding benefits that come with breastfeeding.

My journey to becoming a mother did not look like what I expected- right down to delivery day. I felt like succeeding in  breastfeeding was something I could control, that it would redeem me for the labor and delivery experience that I hated and I became a little bit obsessed with it.

I learned I was going to be a 3rd time mama about 3 weeks before my son was to be born via C-section from his biological mother. The week before his birth I began to pump about 6 times a day.
